SAN ANTONIO – The Loyola Wolf Pack competitive dance team traveled to Our Lady of the Lake University to compete in a regional qualifier for the NAIA National Championship in a field of five teams. Four of the teams, including Loyola, went into the competition with average scores ranking in the top 15 in the NAIA.Â

Loyola received a score of 79.41 in the preliminary round on Friday and an 80.47 in the final to finish with an overall score of 80.20, good for second place.Â

Hope International won the regional with an overall score of 84.92. Host Our Lady of the Lake finished in third behind Loyola with a score of 78.61, while Dillard placed fourth and Ave Maria fifth.Â

This was the Wolf Pack's highest score in an NAIA qualifier since the 2022 season.Â

The 10th annual NAIA Competitive Cheer and Dance National Championship will take place March 27-28 in Topeka, Kansas. Loyola, which is seeking to return to the national championship for the first time since the 2024 season, will need an at-large selection to qualify. The selection show for the national championship field will be streamed on YouTube March 16 at 6:30 p.m.Â
