OPELIKA, Ala. – The LTU Spring Break Invitational continued for the Loyola Wolf Pack men's golf team with the second round on Wednesday, and Loyola remains in sixth place out of 13 teams after a solid day at Grand National Golf Club.
The Wolf Pack had a team total of 299 on Day 2 of the tournament to bring the tournament score to 601 (+25). No. 6 Dalton State continues to lead the field (-3), and Campbellsville (+4) and Point (+10) make up the Top 3 on the team leaderboard.
Cristobal Salome made a jump into the Top 10 of the individual leaderboard with an under-par round. He carded a second-round 71 (-1) to sit tied for seventh with a tournament score of 145 (+1). He was 3-under after his first nine holes thanks to seven pars, an eagle, and a birdie. His eagle came on the par-5, 517-yard fourth hole. Then his back nine featured up and down play to get to his 1-under score.
Cole Haase also had a good day, shooting a 73 (+1) on Wednesday to move up to 22nd place (+5). He was 2-under after seven holes with two birdies and five pars, then finished his front nine bogey-birdie to stay at 2-under through nine. Haase had three bogeys, a birdie, and a par after five holes on the back nine, then one more bogey and three pars finished off his 1-over round.
Leon Mishkin and Arsenios Kalogerakis are both tied for 33rd with tournament scores of 156 (+12) after rounds of 82 and 78, respectively, and Manuel Corral shot a second-round 77 (+5) to sit tied for 47th (+16).
The tournament continues on Thursday with the third and final round.
